question about test results

 just wondered how long does it take the rest of you to get back th test results from your lab work after you see your rheumatolgist? it takes  me at least 3 weeks and then its just a letter with no numbers just will say keep taking same medication see you in 6 months.  I have lupus and ra. and I go to one of the best rheumatolgy clinic in Al.   Linda

Linda . . . most docs don't give you the results unless you ask. When I want the results, I add a little note on the lab sheet (before I get blood drawn) like this: cc: Always Rosie, 12345 Main Street, Anytown, OH 54321 The "cc:" stands for "please send a courtesy copy to:" Then the lab sends me a copy of my blood work at home. Most labwork is done in less than a week. There are a few items that take longer. Blessings!

I always call my doctor's office and speak to her nurse about 1 1/2 weeks after my labs were done and request a copy be faxed to me. I am sure they get them back much quicker but the doctor has to review them before they will release them to the patient. Maybe your doctor is extremely busy and that is why it is taking so long.... just a thought.
