Got back from my internist and he thinks I have underlying fibromyalgia along with some sort of autoimune disorder which caused the pericarditis , chostocondroitis and early onset osteoarthritis after my latest symptom which was eyeball/eyelid pain for the last 2 1/2 days (extremely painful to even touch the area and was causing a horrible headache.) and some tender spots that he found in my knees and ankles that set more pain off! I see that some of you have different things going on so is this fairly common to have fibromyalgia and autoimmune stuff at the same time?

Nanda, it sounds like your doctor may be on the right track. A lot of people have Fibro and other autoimmune diseases, such as lupus, sjogrens, RA, etc. I hope your doctor monitors you closely and you get to the bottom of your problems. Take care and keep us posted on how you are doing.

Yes, there seem to be quite a few people who have fibro along with their AI diseases. DId your doc offer any kind of treatment to help with the fibro?

Hi Staci and hippimom2,

thanks for the replies!

Hippimom2, he's starting me on a muscle relaxant,flexeril to start with but mentioned other alternatives that included antidepressents, anti-eliptics and sleeping pills if this doesn't work. The flexeril is to be included with the ultram and mobic that I'm already taking along with percocet as needed. He's having me come back in a couple weeks to see how I'm doing. I already took one of the flexerils (sp?) today but my eyebrow and eyelid are in still quite painful sad . I know that's a small area to have pain but it's really uncomfortable especially since there's this freakin' headache that seems to go with it!
