Swam in the Gulf of Mexico!!!

     Hello gang!!   Just got back from a nice vacation in the Riviera May area of Mexico on the Gulf. We had a wonderful week and I was actually able to do some snorkeling and swimming!!!   I bought a UV protective Lycra Skin Suit which is like a dive suit but is made of lightweight bathing suit fabric.  I wore it the first day to swim in the ocean and I was absolutely shocked at how well it protected me from the sun.  My husband had two layers of 45 waterproof sun block on and got burned on chest and back . . . It was a great vacation but its great to be back home too. Blessings!

We missed you! Glad you had a nice time. I've never heard of those dive suits, thanks for the link. You always have great recommendations. Your trip sounds glorious. The ocean is the most soothing place, and lying on the beach with your sweetie for a week is as good as it gets. Welcome back!

AlwaysRosie: I was woundering where you were, I haven't seen you post in awhile. It sounds like you had wounderfull and relaxing time, we all need a good vac. once in awhile. Good to see you post and not sick.

Isn't it great swimming in the Gulf of Mexico. I was able to do that we i went to Florida this past fall. Of course I only went out to my knees in the water, I didn't attempt to swim like you did. Glad you had a great trip. Next time maybe you'll tuck me away in your luggage LOL. Welcome back sis, always happy to see you.

Thanks Harmony, Joinery, Audrey, Barbara, Stacey and Hippie!! Its nice to be back!! But created some great memories there. Barbara . . . LOL . . . I did take everyone with me in a special UV Bag!!! I worried while we sat even in the shade because I know about the reflection from the sand and water and worried it would make me sick. Was just so tired of hiding from the sun for so long. I was extremely careful and it was an awesome experience. I felt very privileged to be able to vacation like that. I really did think of all of you while we were enjoying the beach. Blessings!

Hi Rosie,

   I'm so glad you had a wonderful vacation!! It was well deserved sis! I use to go to Florida every summer before my equallibrim got damaged and I lost my balance in water. I use to love to swim and I really miss it.

Wow, you had a great time eh!  That sun suit sounds perfect.  I need to get one of those! I'll bet the water was crystal clear.  Gorgeous!  So glad you had a great time!

Hi Rosie, sorry I didn't see this post before.

I want you to know I am thoughly jealous! It sounds like a wonderful time. Not to have to worry about a dog gone thing for a week. Now you got me in the mood for a vacation. Do you think if I fill up the bathtub with salt water and a rubber ducky and light a lime candle while listening to wasting away again in marqaritaville that would contitute a vacation? Of course in an hours time my ocean would get cold and my lime would melt. All I'd have left is a song I'd never want to hear again and stupid rubber ducky.

Oh well I'm so glad you were able to get a way and have a great time. I hope you aren't to tired. I'm so glad you didn't get burned out there. I hope hubby's burns wern't too bad.

Yup Ginny, Okie . . . it was great! Ginny that suit was well worth the price!! But I was really careful about the cumulative affect of the sun over the coarse of the week. LOL Carol . . . The lime is an absolute necessity . . . they serve lime with everything in Mexico!! (or at least at our resort). GO to your brother's for Easter!! I was afraid of coming home dragging and starting a flare . . . but I'm actually doing well. I set aside a couple days to rest when I got home and I've really had a quiet week and have been careful not to take on the world. I've had some GI problems (which I had before I left) but am feeling well otherwise. Blessings!

Sounds absolutely luxurious, and I'm so glad you found a way to take care of yourself while you were in the sunny gulf.
