I wanted to give you all an update. I am doing okay so far, having a few contractions toward the end of the day. I see the OB tomorrow. I will also have another ultrasound as well. Hopefully all is going very well.

I am retaining water again though I gained 5lbs in 2 days and my hands and ankles are really puffy. I figure they will freak out. I am unsure what it means except that if it doesn't improve they will deliver me the first week of April. I hate that but at the same time I want the baby to be okay.

Well, there was good news and bad news.

Baby is 2lbs 7ozs and doing well. I on the other hand have gained 10lbs since Friday. My blood pressure is also up considerably. They are increasing my procardia and doing a 24hr urine as well as blood work. I will be seen again next Wednesday and we will see how that goes. So far no cervical changes. If I have pre-eclampsia I will be delivered at 32 weeks (beginning of April).

Thanks everyone. I am still rather shaken by developing pre-eclampsia this early on. None of the other problems I had in the past have been an issue, but for some reason I have a new one. This is actually scarier than preterm labor.

I know this is so scarey for you. It is comforting that your docs seem to be on top of things. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Have you name your little one yet? Judy

We will pick the final name after the baby is actually born but we are down to 3 names for a boy and 3 names for a girl-

redrose! You are going throught something that is scarey, but It does sound like you have very good docs. It's hard to choose a name. My husband and I were undecided till the day she was born. Wish the best for you and your family.

Redrose,

Even though I haven't been posting lately, I've read your posts and have been thinking about you and your little baby. I had pre-eclampsia when I was pregnant with my last child and I carried her to term, so I pray that you have the same success with your pregnancy. Sounds like you've had a tough time, but I'm sure it will all be worth it when you see your little newborn. When is your due date, by the way?

I am due May 28th but there was never any plan to push it that far, they figured tail end of April/early May was far enough.
