Lupus crossed off the list!

Not to rub it in anyone's face, so to speak...but it appears that lupus is not causing my renal insufficiency. My ANA was negative and C3/C4 complements were within normal limits. Now I'm going to do a 24-hour urine to measure my urinary protein and protein:creatinine ratio, which will determine whether or not there's a need to biopsy the ol' bean at this time - which I would rather not do, given the risks, but I'm also curious as to what could explain the proteinuria. They've re-classified me with stage 2 chronic kidney disease (that probably sounds scarier than it actually is) because my GFR dipped down slightly more. So here's a poll to all of the kidney-diseased among you: what's your GFR these days?

My GFR runs in the 40's. I am classified as stage 3.

Glad to hear it's not lupus but am curious to know what it is. Keep us updated.
