I've heard different opinions about pain docs. I've always kept the idea of seeing one in the back of my mind if my pain ever becomes unmanageable. I think they are like a lot of docs - they are great if you get a good one, but there are also not so great ones out there. I think it would be a good idea to see one if your pain isn't under control. They will probably talk about med options as well as other techniques to control pain. Let us know what you decide and how things go if you do decide to go to one. Take care

I see a pain intervention group, they do nerve blocks and similar procedures rather than prescribing narcotic pain meds. It has made a world of difference for me- I have 2 damaged nerves in the hip/groin area that made walking so difficult and painful I ended up using a forarm crutch/cane to help as my leg became weaker and weaker.
I would see a pain management doctor if I could find a decent one who takes my insurance and is close enough to where I live because I still have other pain issues.
