anyone on Rituxan?

I've been on a 6 month course of Cytoxan chemotherapy.  It hasn't been going well, and the last treatment landed me in the hospital last weekend.  I saw my RA today and we have agreed to discontinue cytoxan for now.  My dr is thinking of using Rituxan, has anyone been on it?  any comments on it?

I'm supposed to start it when I get done at Mayo, if I want to. Keep in touch and maybe we can go through it together at least. When I start, I'll post. I have liver disease and don't handle meds all that well, so bear in mind I may have exaggerated side effects that no one else would ever get. Hopefully it will have a positive impact on the liver.

I took rituxan infusion back 2 years ago. I didn't have and issues receiving the infusion . They take up to 5 hours to do, some patients react poorly to the infusion. I did fine with the infusions just kinda felt like a had the flu the day of and day after the infusion. I had 4 infusions and I didn't feel like I was doing any better, and my Rheumy stopped the infusions, my platelets began to fall and he wasn't sure if it was the rituxan so we stopped the treatment.

That's all I can offer up, I didn't feel sick to my stomach or anything like that, just a bit tired. Each person responds differently though. Wishing you the best of luck.
