How many times?

I would like to know, in general how often people on this site have blood work done, that is a full blood count and maybe odd ones thrown in for the particular conditions one has.
If I ask for one every few months my doc raises eyes to heaven and says that I have just Had one!
What would be the norm?

Hmm...I just started mtx so three weeks ago, one week ago, tommorrow, and two weeks later. I think it will then be once a month. That is CMP and CBCwDifWplt. Then SED and CRP at least every three months.
I don't have to ask for it I keep trying to get her to relax a little.

Depends on disease activity and meds I'm on. Right now . . no routine blood work. At times, I had it done for every office visit (every 2-4 months). BUT lots on this board are in the US . . . docs are less conservative with insurance paying their fees. So you might have a different level of care. Ginny is in Canada and has lots of blood draws . . . and that IS socialized (government based) medicine. So I think it varies from country to country and hugely from doctor to doctor. Blessings!

Ann, I see my rheumy every 4 months and she draws blood (CBC, kidney, liver, SED, anti dna, etc) and then again in between appts (CBC and liver function) to monitor my lupus and because of the meds I am on. So, it's every 2 months for me.

Hi Ann:

I get my blood tested every 2 weeks. I normally have a cbc with differential, SED rate and CRP checked at the sametime. I rarely have my ANA and such checked except for maybe once a year. My dcotors solely work off my cbc and inflammation markers.

Hi Ann,

I get my blood tested once a month. The tests are CBC, ESR, ALT, ALK PHOS, GGT, urine. If I'm in a flare up, I get it tested every 2 weeks to monitor everything and make sure my prednisone is working.

I usually get my blood test every 3 months, depending on how I'm doing. Right now I've been in a major Sjogren's/lupus flare for over a month, so I've had blood drawn a lot. Have to go back in June, and again in July.
