((((( Hippi ))))) I've had 2 colonoscopies and I will be totally honest with you, the prep is the worst part. For me I didn't mind the liquid diet for the day or the after effects from the stuff you drink, it's the stuff you drink that kills me, I just don't tolerate it well. Once you drink it or take the pills (whatever your doctor prefers) as you know you will need to be close to a bathroom, this will go on for a couple of hours.
Once you get there to have the procedure done, they will have you change into a gown, hook you up to monitors and put in a IV (for your happy juice
lol). All of this takes longer than the actual procedure itself. Then they will roll you into the room where it will be done, they will ask you to roll over on your side, the doctor will come in with your happy juice and you will be out within seconds! You will wake up with a little discomfort and will need to pass gas. Once you do this a couple of times they will get you up, get dressed and you will be able to go home. For the rest of the day I would suggest taking it easy.
My first one went really well just as I described above. My 2nd one not so easy, everything was fine until I woke up and couldn't pass gas... it wouldn't come out for whatever reason and I was in some pain. They gave me a pill to put under my tongue and ended up doing some reflexology on the bottom of my feet and I finally got some relief. I went home and was fine.
I pray yours goes well, I will be thinking about
you. Let us know
