An update - the 60 days has finally passed! Today I received a call from my disability insurance attorney - the disability insurance has decided to "reinstate my benefits" -- so I'll start getting that income again (until 65) with back pay to April when they stopped minus 33% of the back pay that goes to the attorney. And in the last couple of weeks I've gotten news from SSD - my claim has been decreed "fully favorable" - which means sometime in the near future I should be receiving back payments from Jan 2005 to present - $5,800 of which goes to the SSD attorney -- and payments and Medicare availability from here on out. (Only issue I have with this is that my actual disability date of Feb 2002 was 'reset' by 3 years.) I will be so relieved once I actually see these checks, wait for them to clear, and see the funds in *my* account!!! The home repairs that have accumulated since 2002 can be addressed! The loans I've been living off of can be repaid! Hurrah, hurrah, hurrah!!! For those of you who are just reading the end of this thread -- this might not have been possible without finally getting a neuropsych exam that showed clear evidence of cognitive disorder. Loss of cognitive function didn't show up on MRI, but did during this testing. And it's a very bright, sunny 56 degree day here, so all is well. Thanks for everyone's support during this trying time. This news made my day. I've been worried about you because I know how difficult a time you've been having with your health and your finances. Considering the way you've been feeling and the stress of knowing for sure that you have cognitive problems, money problems must have been devastating and the last thing you needed in your life.

Good for your attorney for doing a good job, and yay for the government for coming through for you.

I love happy endings, especially when they pertain to someone as wonderful as you.

And if that wasn't GREAT enough, my lab work just came back with EVERYTHING in range, and I feel pretty good! Still have to take all my meds, though - working on reducing the prednisone down (9 mg now) - plus rheumy just gave me some Percocet for my hip pain that rears it's nasty head from time to time!
