I'm back, but sick

I just wanted to let everyone know that I am home from vacation.  I love the mountains so much, but I didn't tollerate the trip very well this year.  Almost every afternoon I had a flare up of symptoms and felt very sick.  We did do a lot of fun things though but I was kind of bummed out that I didn't feel well. I've really crashed since getting home and am feeling really overwhelmed.  We got home and unpacked and then the kids started school today and my daughter had dance right after school.  My sons arthritis is also flaring, so I need to figure out when I can take him to the doctor and I have an appointment with my rheumy tomorrow (2hr round trip) and then after dance class tonight, my daughter said that her heels have been hurting her.  Ugh!!!  I'm stressed and exhausted!!! I really want to catch up with all of you.  I really did miss all of you while I was gone.  Hopefully in the next few days I can catch up a little.

Glad you're back safe and sound - just sorry about the flaring.  We are leaving for vacation in a few days - also a driving one - headed to visit our kids.  I love getting away, but don't travel well and am worried about the flaring part myself.   My kids are adults though, so it's comopletely different than being the mom of youngsters.  I don't know how you do it - but I applaud you.  Now take care of yourself and like Patty said - let the laundry wait......if only it would grow legs and walk away!

Hey Hippi, welcome home. It sounds like this vacation kind of took a lot out of everyone. Hopfully your son won't have a lot of problems with his flare. Maybe the dancing is what is happening with your daughter. Hopfully it's no more than normal stuff. You are probably at the doctors by now. It's good that you got an appt. Good timing!

Let us know how it went and try to rest when ever you get a little time to yourself.

Hippi, had pc problems, bad pc karma, anyway, glad you are back. My bf has family in the mountains and I always get sick. Lack of oxygen I think. I don't know. I get sort of sick, heights and all.

I hope you didn't get too much sun. It has been so so bad for me. I'm really developing some crazy kind of severe photosensitivity, worse than some of the other parts of my illness. I didnt think it could be so bad. I wonder why. Doc just says because of autoimmune illness, but then, with another breath, well I'm not that sick according to labs. What's up with that?

Thanks for all of the very kind replies and all the support. Pat, I wish the reason I haven't been here is because I've been resting, but it's not - I still haven't had a chance to rest. Yesterday I had my rheumy appointment which is a 2 and 1/2 hr round trip. My appointment went well and we talked about my prednisone dose more and talked about making sure I feel good for a while before trying to taper more. Then today I took both my kids to their pediatrician for my daughter's heel pain and my son's arthritis flare. Again, it was over a 2 and 1/2 hr round trip. My daughter has something called Severs Disease which is basically just means her heel plates are growing and are inflamed, so she has to take anti inflammatories and use a special heel insert. Hopefully it will go away after a few weeks and if it doesn't we have to take her to an ortho doc. For my son, she ran a bunch of labs and she talked about using a short prednisone dose if he keeps getting worse. He has an appointment with a new pediatric rheumy in October. I have read a lot of the recent posts here, but haven't had a lot of time to respond. I'll probably head off to bed with my kids in a few minutes. Thanks again for being there for me. Hopefully I can post more tomorrow.
