Right side pain

I have been having pain under and right below my right rib cage for weeks now.  I tend to lean to the left even when I'm sitting.  It feels almost as if there is something swollen there and its painful to the touch.  I called the rhumy days ago and haven't heard anything back.  Shes only in the office 2 days a week, which I found out today.  Its hurting worse tonight.  I'm even considering going to the er when my dh gets home from work.  Have any of you ever had this happen?  I posted another topic a few days ago cuz I had read that your liver can become enlarged from Lupus.  So I'm just wondering if any of you have ever had this?

Thanks, I hope your ok too. I had a relly bad night last night, I had a very hard time breathing and my side hurt all night. I thought about going to the er but didn't. I have 3 kids who had to go to school today and a husband who had to work. We moved here a yr ago and have no family here so its just us and its hard to go to the er even if I feel like I need to. Thanks again and best wishes. My pain seems to be under my rib cage and below and it feels like it wraps around the side a little. I called my rhumy and she said it didn't sound like a rhumy problem.

I have had similar pain on the left side...I was seen in the er two times. Once they said pleurasy(?) and the other they said inflamation of the lining btwn lung and ribs...same thing I believe.

They upped the pred & pain meds and said rest.

Also, I understand how you feel about not being able to go to the er, even when you need too...

I am raising my 7 yr old by myself. My familiy is not of much help. I drive my daughter to and from school (20 miles) daily. I never take her to Dr w/me...never grimice or complain...I for a long time hid my illness from her/protecting her so I thought...

I'd like to share with you, what was told to me by my doctor:

Would I rather let my daughter see me getting help at the ER, or dying at home?

Yeah, she may miss a meal or have to stay up past bed time and miss school and maybe see people who are hurt or acting crazy and maybe even stay with a social worker until someone can come to pick her up, or watch me die at home and growup without me.

That sounds extreme but, it made me realize that I must bump my needs up on the priority list!

I have severe liver problems and that sounds like the pain I get with with bad liver inflammation. Could be from meds. YOu need to go to the ER or doc ASAP and get it tested. My grandmother dropped dead from very advanced cirrhosis not even knowing she had liver disease. Certain types of liver problems go along with some forms of autoimmune disease, in some cases the liver actually seems to cause the autoimmune problems or at least precede other symptoms, like in my case.

Sometimes there are mild problems with the diaphragm but it doesn't sound like what you are going through. I've never had pleurisy that I know of but my mom has and she had pain all over. The way you describe sounds like you need your liver levels checked ASAP. I don't know what meds you take. You need to get it checked out soon, no matter what it is. The upper pain like that could be more serious than the kinds of lower belly pains we are used to from gi and other common less serious problems.

You might look under your tongue or closely at the whites of your eyes to see if they have a yellowish cast to them as well. I would go to urgent care asap and get tested. Could be medicine or disease hurting your liver and it can really snowball once the liver can't keep up and gets inflammed.
