I did it!!!

I did it,  I got the VSG (vertical sleeve gastronomy)   There are only a few surgeons in the US that do this and I think I had the best.  Since I could not have the by-pass or the lap band.  This is the best thing for a Lupus patient that wants to lose weight.

There is a tool out there to fight the evils of predisone!!

 

I got it done in DesMoines, Iowa. Just find a doctor that will do the VSG. Make sure they know what they are doing, because you will not have the chance to undo it. The extra part of your stomach is gone. There is another site that talks about doctors and who does it. I was in the hospital 6 days. Down about 2 weeks, but still taking it slow, had to come off my methotrexate till Oct 16th, so worrying about Lupus going active. It is laproscopic with the chance of opening. I have lost 25lbs so far. Good luck to you on the transplant!!!!

Thanks Hippi, How are you doing? I tried to email you but it came back. Just wondering how you were doing and if you made it to the walk this year? I did, it was better than last year to a extent.
