Hi guys, I am back and still no dx with whatever is going on in my body.


Can you explain what your joint pains feel like? Mine are best described as a toothache pain, that can last a second or pulsate for an hour---they also jump all over my body but mainly finger/s, hand/s, toe/s, feet, ankle/s, spine. I have never had pains like this. The pains are so deep I thought it was bone cancer at first.

Also, do you have a lot of joint cracking? I noticed mine at the onset of the pains, the cracking is very extreme- mainly shoulders, hips, inside of hips, ankles, wrist. The joint cracking is loud and not normal....

Yours is the best description of my joint pain that I've heard of. Today I've had such pain in my elbows that I took the strongest pain meds I have, crawled into my hot tub for 15 minutes, and then went back to bed. It's excrutiating. Like yours, it can be in one joint one day and others the next. Yesterday it was the small joints in my feet. I've been glued to the election coverage since noon but think I'll go back to bed. I feel like such a wuss.

My joints don't crack, but I know others whose joints crack a lot.

My pains are so odd. Last week it was my middle finger, I would get a deep toothache pain that woud pulsate for a minute then leave to come back an hr later.

The EXTREME joint cracking is what makes me also suspect lupus or lyme. However, all my AI blood tests come back fine? I have no rash on my face either but have recently had a sore in my nose (for 2 days only) that felt like the pain of a pimple, also had a sore in the back of my mouth for a day or two.

At times, I also have joint pains that feel like a toothache. Most of the time, though, they feel extremely pressurized, especially worse with storms and humidity. They feel like I imagine a balloon that's ready to pop would feel. I feel like I need them drained out or something...and oiled up. My joints get very stiff. When they are not so bad, almost every joint in my body cracks and pops, even my sternum. But when it rains or is humid, they get that pressurized feeling..and my joints won't crack at all. Then again, I can hardly move them when they feel like this. It also causes even worse stiffness, especially after sitting for a while.

Last summer I suddenly developed pain near some of my finger joints. It was very sharp and severe, it even kept me awake at night. I told my Rheum, he checked my fingers, moved them around, and said there is no swelling and that was it. Well, something was certainly amiss in there. But now after thinking about it, it  could have been nerve pain as it was sudden, sharp, throbbing and almost electric-like. Plus i'd been getting random nerve pains all over the place.

Thanks Bay...when you have had your finger pains do they come and go like pulsate for a minute badly then go away to come back again in an hour ?

Yes, the pain did pulsate and occured on and off. It was not a 24-7 constant type of pain. Which is another reason it made me think of nerve pain. I've had lots of experience (unfortanately) with nerve pains, though usually with sciatica or other nerve pains from my spine. Plus I get alot of neck pain, so perhaps I had some compression in my cervical spine. Suddenly it went away. However, 1 or 2 weeks ago, I suddenly had it again in short bursts, but it only lasted one day. But it was weird because it felt like it was around some finger joints.

I think we've spoken before about your pain.  I mentioned Fibromyalgia.  Did you get to a doctor or rheumatologist and ask about that?  My joint pain moves around exactly the way you have described it. I also have a lot of cracking and popping in my neck, back, shoulders, wrists, fingers, etc.  It's all Fibromyalgia (for me anyway).  Just now, I had awful pain, deep kind of pain in my ankles.  Then it stopped and now I have it in my elbows. 

 

All of these that you have in your signature are Fibromyalgia symptoms.

Currently no dx for:  migratory joint/bone pain, extreme joint cracking, feet buzzing/vibrating, right eye pain,mid spine soreness (like a constant bruise) fatigue and dizzy spells, bumps and indents on nails. New as of Aug-muscle twitching throughout my body. 

Also, a bone scan will come back perfect if it's fibro.  Mine did too.  There are no diagnostic tools to diagnose fibromyalgia.  So if your tests keep coming back fine, but your pain is getting worse, Fibro is the likely culprit.

I have compression of my c spine but no neck pain. I go to a NS in 2 wks to see if its connected to some of my pains but I doubt it. I get nerve pains too. For example  tonight I was working out and I got nerve type of pains in one of my toes that hit about 4 times in 10 minutes, then went away.

Hi Ginny! We have written to each other before. I do not have the pressure point pains so the Dr said no to fibro. So with fibro you get that deep toothache pain and it pulsates then can move somewhere else? Gosh, I wish I had the pressure points so I could relax w all of this!

I was given cymbalta to see if that would help with the pains. I have been resisting it but will prob try it out this week.....
