Update on my thinning hair

Hi Lynnie, I don't know about your dr. but everyone I know that is on steroids has thinning hair. My hair has thined a lot. The hair on my legs doesn't even grow half the time. I'm no dr. but female baldness would surprise me. I'm sorry you are hurting alot of women here wear their hair short. I have really long hair but I put it up on my head. Maybe you can go to a salon and see what they suggest. We deserve to lok and feel as well as we can.

Lynnie, get the FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) checked. They may be able to help that, also the derm may be able to give a topical solution. The dermatologists are more picky usually and will do more to preserve your good looks than the med docs, who are dealing with people really dying. Still, the dermatologist can do all the hormone tests, mine is going to do me when I get back from Mayo. And he will treat me better than mylocal endo,who does nothing, not even testing, and disagrees with a panel of docs at Mayo. My endo at mayo who is good says the pituitary can get messed up by autoimmune disease and the steroids we take, so he tests stuff.
