Update: 1 month post hysterectomy surgery. I feel like a million bucks!!

So it's been 4 weeks since my surgery and I can't tell you guys how incredible I'm feeling.  This is a miracle.  I'm still having issues with my Fibromyalgia, but I feel so good in every other way, that I'm just telling the Fibro, " Get lost. You can't ruin my good mood!"

 

I'm noticing changes in my skin.  I have skin like a baby's bum!  My fingernails are stronger and grow like weeds.  I've lost 8 -10 pounds and it's staying off.  My blood pressure is normal!  This is a big one.  I was running a bp of 140/100.  The 3rd day I was in the hospital it went down to 127/72.  I had it checked at my doctor's today and it's still normal.  120/80.  And that's in the doctor's office! I have no brain fog. My head is as clear as can be.  I can type twice as fast with half the mistakes.  My anxiety and depression is almost non-existant.  My blood coagulation is very steady.  It used to be a roller coaster tryiing to keep my INR at a steady number. It's hardly budged in 2 weeks. Oh!!!  I actually have a sex drive!  Holy smokes, my hubby is in total shock over this.  So am I! This is HUGE.

 

I'm in awe.  I really can't wait to see how I am in another month, six months!  I haven't felt like this in years.  Probably since junior highschool.  At least 20 years!  That uterus was not helping me one bit.  My lupus is nice and quiet and my family doc wants me to try tapering down on the pred.  I haven't been able to do that for a long time.  Just can't get over how great I feel! 

 

I wanted to send out encouraging news and if anyone is considering a hysterectomy, email me!!!

That is the best news i've heard in a long time! I am so thankful you are feeling so good! It's amazing what whacked out hormones will do to you! I am praying you keep getting better and better! Love ya, Judy

Wow Ginny, what great news! BP, INR and libido too? My libido must have hooked up with some other woman 'cause it sure isn't with me. Well you go girl, have a round for me wink Love, Butterflake

Hey Ginny,

I am very glad that you have these good days in many ways.  Really glad to hear it.  You were in bad shape for awhile, and now you have healing.

Ginny-- I'm so glad you had the great result! I know I felt like a 10year old afterward. My doc said that it was because none of the stuff wasworking anyway and now, on hormones, it's like I'm a child in a way, no ups and downs, just a steady dose and I felt so much better too.

I"m so so so glad this worked out so great for you!

Thanks everyone!  I really feel amazing. I noticed another improvement.  My blood sugar hasn't been falling into low levels either. I don't have those hypoglycemic tendancies.  I think that is helping in my weight loss.  I'm just not needing to graze all the time.

 

Butterflake, you made me laugh out loud!!  What stinks is that I WANT to have sex with my hubby, but we can't yet!  I can't have sex for another month!!  UGH!  Graham said, "Well I sure hope this desire doesn't disappear in the next month.  Sheesh."  Hehe...  I"ve never had much of a libido. This is totally new for me!

 

I'm still getting my hormones.  I have my ovaries. But the PMS I had this month was so easy to deal with.  I loved watching "the day" come and go with no period!  yeah

Hi Marji and Stacie,

 

Yeah, it's pretty nice not having to worry each month!  December's period came and went with nothing at all! 

 

I'm feeling like a truck hit me today though.  My fibro is ticked right off.  I hope a good sleep will help me feel better tomorrow.

Hi Ginny,

I am so happy that you are finally feeling great. I know you have had a really rough time the past few months and you deserve a break. I realize the fibro is still a problem but at least things are looking up in all other ways. I am so happy for you and your enthusiatic post brought a smile to my face. I wish you many more sunny days ahead; you are a wonderful person.

I would second that Sandy.  sometimes I read all these posts and realize often that my own complaints are miniscule compared with some of you.

Hi Sandy!  You are such a sweetheart!  Thank you for your very encouraging and lovely message.  I really appreciate that!  I went to Walmart today to do a bit of Christmas shopping for my nephews and niece.  It was great!  Feels good to get out.

 

Hester, my friend!  You have a lot going on right now too.  I wouldn't call your issues miniscule at all.  My oh my.  But you're always here to encourage each one of us and that is something to be proud of.  Even when you're not 100%, you are here to support.

Hey girlfriend. I am so happy to hear you got some of the possitive side effects as well! I won't nag but pleae remember you are only a month out and even though you are feeling better you need to make yourself slow down. Your body needs to heal. Even though you can't see alot of the stitches and stuff your body has been through the wringer and it was in rough shape to begin with. I hope the fibro gives you a break for christmas. Sorry I havn't been around much. My brain has been living in a fog. But I am working on it. After all it's christmas! and I have alot to be thankful for.

Hey Carol!!

 

Your advice is well noted, and you're not nagging! I need to hear this - often, because I'm bad for overdoing things. I really do need to take it slow.  You are SO right about that. I keep forgetting I'm only 5 weeks out.  I feel so well it's deceiving.  Plus it feels like I had that surgery about 8 weeks ago. Hehehe... Time flies when you're having fun as they say!

 

I hope the Fibro just take a hint and jumps off a very high bridge.....I"m so totally sick of living with this every day.  My lower back is in bad shape and all my joints hurt today.  BAH!  I sure hope I'm feeling better in that category at Christmas too.  Thanks Carol!

 

I've been wondering how you were these last few days.  We start to worry about our Okie when we don't hear from you every day!  Sorry your fog is so bad right now.  I'm sending you prayers!
