Pressure in heart??

Hello everyone, talked to rhumry today and he did echo to look for fluid around heart, and found elevated right ventricle pressure and pulomary arteral pressure. i know that sometime when you have and auto-immune disease it can affect other organs, but i done know about this one. we are still trying to decide what disease that i have,but now i am getting really worried. tks

Hi DennyLynn. Pulmonary hypertension can be a serious illness of lupies, but I think it's really rare. I hope your rheumy figures this out soon. I know that sometimes it's hard not to worry, but try to take it easy. Your rheumy will not make a diagnosis any faster if you worry and you could end up in a big flare. Anyway, welcome to our forum! tks so much , just found out that pressures are 35, i think that is on the high side, b/c it should be 20. I am going to cardio on monday , i'll keep you posted

Hi Dennylynn:

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with pulmonary hypertension. I have pulmonary hypertension pretty bad. My pulmonologist has me on vigara 3 times a day to treat it. Apparently, it's a great medication to treat pulmonary hypertension. Also, it does not affect our libidos like it does men.

Good luck with the Cardio. My Cardio did a right sided heart cath to measure the pressures accurately. I'm in the high 30's. I normally get pericardi*** from my lupus. I wish you the best of luck and if you have any questions just let me know.

Sorry to hear you are having issues with elevated ventrical pressure, I know exactly what that is like. It can truly be a scary experience. I am actually going through all of those issues at this time as well. Monday will be here before you know it though, so try to stay calm and hopefully you will get some much needed answers on when you meet with the cardiologist.
