Well, we are going to try again! My surgery is scheduled for Monday.  (to put in my tube for peritoneal dialysis and to finish my fistula).  I'll be so glad to get this behind me!  In other news...it has been snowing here since 7 am;  now this may not be exciting for some of you, but, i'm on the Mississippi Gulf Coast!  I was 16 the last time it snowed her!  Hope you all are doing well!  God bless you, Judy

Judy, that is great to hear you're going in on Monday.  YAY!  It will be so good to finally have this done.  I'll be praying for you!

 

I saw on the news just now that New Orleans has a snow storm! It was so weird to see that.  Even the schools are closed!  WOW, how odd for you to experience that.  Hahaha, I'm picturing people from my neck of the woods, on vacation in the gulf, expecting to escape the snow and cold and they're getting snow!! Bahahaha... How ironic.  I'm sure there's lots of people royally ticked right off!!  Well, drive safe if you have to go out.  Leave lots of room between you and guy ahead of ya!

 

I'm really glad for you Judy.  You've waited a long time to get this procedure done.

Judy,

I'm so happy for you that you will be going in on Monday and will be getting this taken care of. I too will be praying for you!

My husband was just commenting on the weather down your way and how amazing it was for you all to be getting snow. It has been cold here, but no flurries. I am originally from upstate NY, up near Canada, I sure miss the snow, enjoy it for me!

Judy, I really hope things go well for you Monday and I'll be thinking of you. Enjoy the snow (as long as you don't have to drive in it). Take care of yourself and keep us updated.

Thank you all so much for your concern and support. Well you gotta love the gulf south, forecasted temp for Mon is 70! Snow one day, air condition the next! The old saying about our weather patterns is... If you don't like it wait a minute it'll change! I'll update you guys asap after surgery! Thanx, Judy

Hi Judy, I was wondering how the surgery went? I have to admit that I was pretty clueless about what the proceedure was. My doctor talk leaves a lot to be desired. I do understand words like pain, frustration, hope it works, happy when it's over and stuff like that. So I'll go wit those things. I hope it worked with no pain and it is over. How's the snow?

JUDY!!!  Yay, you're home!  I'm sure you're very sore.  Keep those pain meds within arm's reach.  I'm so glad you posted to let us know  you were doing okay! Rest comfortably tonight!

Hey y'all! I'm still having so much pain. Last nite I took the surgical dressing off, it was gross, couldn't stand it anymore. My arm is cut from the antecubital (inside of elbow) to my arm pit!!! I have over 49 staples. It is swollen hugely! No wonder it is giving me fits! My abdomen only has a few staples and has not been that bad. Can't type long, i'm starting to ache! God Bless YOu ALL!!!! 49 staples????  Oh my.  Yeah, no wonder you're swollen and not feeling your best, lol! I'm impressed you even posted tonight.  Are you sleeping okay?  Oh my, what a Christmas for you.  I'm so glad you finally were able to have this done.

judy,good luck, I had swelling kidneys 2years ago now i'm fine you'll be fine too.

Judy, the stitches sound very painful. Did the doc give you any idea how long the pain should last? I would think that if it still hurts really bad tomorrow you should give someone a call. I just worry about infection. I hope you are taking good care of yourself and getting lots of rest. Prayers and hugs being sent your way.

I'm going to see my surgeon at 2:00 tomorrow! Things have begun to ease. Still have to take pain med every now and then, not near as often. My arm is still swollen huge. HOpefully, everything is healing properly. I'm not running fever or having drainage. Judy

Judy, you sound so positive and upbeat!  I love it! smilewinkgrin I still have a lot of swelling from my hyster 7 weeks ago.  I'm a bit lop-sided actually.  I'm more swollen on the left side of my belly.  It's funny to look at.  I was told that the swelling would increase if I had a busy day with some activity.  The doctor was right.  The swelling is going to last a few months.  Not sure if that will be the case for you, but if it does stretch out long like that, it's probably totally normal.

 

I'm glad to hear you don't need your pain meds so often.  That's very encouraging!  Sounds like you're healing great!  Let us know how your appointment goes tomorrow.

Hi guys!  I got my staples out!  Yay!  I feel alot better!  I'm about to start classes to learn how to do dialysis at home.  I'm excited about that.  I noticed i'm more swollen after a busy day when my arm isn't elevated enough.  I'm sooooo glad that surgery is behind me!
