Good news...I think!

Happy New Year Everyone!!! I have started the New Year quite well. I got spend time with friends, talk to family, eat and best of all sleep...a lot. I was a little achy here and there but for the most part no major complaints.

So...I went to my primary care doc to review my anemia results (still very low). She told me that my breathing and fatigue issues are most likely rooted in that. Yaaay!!! I just need to take more iron than I have been and that's okay. I will do it.

I didn't have my follow-up rheum appointment yet but she eyeballed the blood tests that he ran and looked at his notes. I did test positive for the lupus anticoagulant factor (?) but the positive was very slight. I thought that was good news.

She told me that based on his notes it appears as though he may be leaning towards a diagnosis of fibromyalgia (sp?). I don't know much about it so I am going to check it out.

Getting answers is awesome. Thanks again to all the healingwell.com members. You all offer such wonderful support. I feel blessed to be a part of this community.

That is very good news!  I hope that the anemia isn't chronic. If it is, I would highly recommend getting a second opinion on the lupus diagnosis. Anemia is such a huge symptom for Lupus, and so is the anticoagulant factor (even if it's a slight positive). I just don't want you to be misdiagnosed. 

 

Fibro and Lupus mimick each other tremendously. But Fibro won't show any positive blood work for Lupus, unless you have Lupus as well.  It's very, very common for both to be diagnosed together. Just make sure your rheumy is not second guessing anything.
