Lupus and skin problems

Hello: I am actually a member of the Lyme forum on Healingwell. It was believed I had Lyme Disease but the test results so far are negative. My prior doctor tested me for Lupus many times due to fatigue and joint pain. May I ask all of you with Lupus, what sort of skin problems does Lupus cause? I know that sunshine is a problem for many, but what skin problems can be from Lupus that do not involve the sunlight? Thank you everyone for answering. Diane

There is a specific type of lupus that is almost all skin issues. It is called Discoid Lupus Erythematosus. There are also several ways the other forms of lupus can effect the skin. There is some information about it on the www.lupus.org website -- just enter "skin" in the search field and a good article comes up! Cheers,
