I was unable to get out fo that terrible trip to Ohio, so I asked Dr. Great Guy for a script
for a pain medication and an inhaker to take with me. He gave me Tramadol and it mellowed me out but did absolutely nothing for the pain. So I called back and got a different one. He gave me Nabumetone and again- it did nothing for the joint pain and body aches that have affected my ability to live my life. I can't even take a short walk without becoming completely distracted by the pain during and really bad after. I am leaving for Ohio tomorrow (Sunday) so when I call the doc on Monday I will need to have them call it in to the Walmart* pharmacy in Ohio. Since it could be a pain to get there (2 rental cars for 5 people) I need this one to get me through the next 2 weeks for sure or hopefully until my rheumy appt in July. Anything that 100% knocks it out of the park? I know its a lot to ask and nothing is a sure thing, but desperation is writing this! I am trying to just get through until my rheumy appt in July.

Trish,
There is a slow release Ultram, which is a version of Tramadol, and it is more effective than Tramadol for me. It doesn't cut the pain but it seems to shave off the sharp edges.
I hope you can find something that helps!

I've said it before, but Lortab is my favorite. It's a narcotic with tylenol and for me it doesn't knock me out and takes away enough of the joint pain to be able to take care of my kids and my house. Ultram worked really well for my opain, too but it makde me break out in horrible hives , just like all the NSAID's do to me. I wish you the best of luck and try to get whatever rest you can.
