Important question regarding implant and lupus

I've had 4 spinal surgeries in the past 2 years.  They now want to implant a spinal stimulator to deal with the pain.

I'm wondering if having the wires leading into my spine and a small plastic pump implanted in my abdomen would make my lupus flare.

I know that lupus doesn't like invasions of our bodies so thought this was very important to ask.  My neurosurgeon has no idea, and my pain management doctor suggested I start researching online and asking as many lupus patients and doctors as i can.

If anyone has any information or knows of any lupus patients with a spinal stimulator implant I sure would appreciate it.

I got to speak with the manufactor of the implant today and found out the leads are made of silicone.  They also told me that people with multiple complicated auto immune disorders as mine usually have complications and infections. So doc and I agree the implant is out of the question for me.
