Hi Loopie,
Thanks for reminding me about
those rice packs. I need to make one, I love my heating pad but its not portable and sometimes hard to get it just right. The rice packs actually form to you so you are covered
There are specific things that people with Lupus should avoid. Night shade vegetables/fruits should be avoided especially alfalfa sprouts. Some people can't handle most legumes but I don't have too much of a problem personally. I have read that the best 'diet' to follow is the diet recommendations by the American Heart Association. Because we are at increased risk for heart problems, it makes sense. I have cut out fried foods and I hardly eat red meat anymore. I actually can tell the difference in the way I feel.
Make sure to let your doc know about
your stomach pain. It may be related, it may not be but its still a concern. I suffered with colitis which completely went away and never came back so docs are still scratching their heads on that one but my GI coming to the conclusion that the Lupus was attacking my colon. I really couldn't find too much info on that theory though.
