Insomnia...

Okay, so how low does the prednisone have to go before I can sleep???

I've been taking Trazodone & Xanax to help me get to sleep and stay asleep ever since I started the prednisone years ago at 15mg. Now the pred is down to 4mg, its 3:30am and I'm wide awake (but totally exhausted).

Do you guys have insomnia as part of Lupus? Or do you think it's a function of some other med? I take Plaquenil, Prednisone, Piroxicam, Valtrex, Nystatin, Wellbutrin SR, Xanax, Traodone, and very seldom toss in a Vicodin....

The sleep study showed no apnea or anything like that - I don't have the best sleep, according to the brain waves & movement indicators, but not bad enough for them to want to follow up...

It's not like my brain or body are awake enough to do anyting useful...just get more & more tired & frustrated! Ugh!

Lynn, I'm not sure this will make much sense since I had insomnia last night and am exhausted today. I've had insomnia since I started taking prednisone and now take lunesta. It's wonderful. Last night was unusual.

Lynnwood, hoping by now you have managed to get some rest. I, too, had the sleep test done and they told me that I am an exceptionally restless sleeper. But no sleep apnea or anything like that. Doc put me on Ambien CR and that has made a huge difference in my overall health.
