Hello Hello. Back on the forum again, I'm afraid. I came here a couple years ago looking for answers, then made an attempt to just "forget about
it" since that's what my doctor did. I really thought my doctor would look into Lupus or conditions related to Lupus since my father (also a patient of his) has scleroderma (though he was first misdiagnosed with Lupus for years).
I have looked everywhere, on my own, for the answers to what's going on with my body. Everytime it comes back to this. I literally wasted the day today crying over this nonsense-- I just don't know what else to do.
I'm a 3rd year college student currently studying abroad in Ireland for the semester. I hoped...I PRAYED that I would be lucky enough not to feel icky over here. But, of course, within a few days I was in my bed with my sweatshirt on and 2 pairs of socks shivering so bad it must have looked like a scene out of the exorcist. Not two days later my chest feels like its got a knife poking through it every time I breathe or move and especially when I ate. So I didn't eat. Took heartburn relief meds, really and truly hoping it was just awful heartburn-- nothing worked. I think things are getting better and my eye swells up. (this eye business befuddles me-- I have no idea how it would connect with Lupus, but it happens a lot when I'm stressed or about to get sick) I'm walking to class today and I had to sit down on the way over because I was out of breath....not that I was weezing or anything like that, I just felt like it was taking a lot of work our of me. These things happen all the time at home, but somehow it's more manageable when I'm at home. I've missed classes here already and I'm worried sick I'm going to have to miss more and not get credits.
I apologize for the length of this rant..I'm just very confused!! It isn't in my head. It's been happening since high school and I'm sick of my doctor dismissing me altogether!
