Eye Inflammation! Ug, this is new!

I went to have a check up on my eyes because I was about to start Plaquenil...just to find out I had yet another form of stinking inflammation! I didn't even know I had inflammation going on in my eyes. Any one else out there have this problem...should I be worried? I just went Thur to Optometrist and won't see Rheumy again till end of this coming week? Wondering if now I nead an Opthamologist. Please keep in mind I just became sick with all this 5 months ago and have just been diagnosed Mixed Connective Tissue Disease...so I am just learning!

see the eye specilaist right away. I say this because your eyes are delicate and can easily be damaged.

Lori, in what part of your eye is the inflammation? the eye itself or the tissue around the eye?

Hang in there Lori. This is a stinkin' disease but you will get through it and it will get easier to accept as time goes on. And you can be sure that we'll be here for you.

I had a terrible round of infection of the sclera several years ago.. it lasted 13 days and was so painful....I never knew your eyeball could hurt like mine hurt... I hope I never get again....
