lisinopril and kidney function

anyone take lisinopril for kidney function..i was on it for 3 years and they took me off because it was dropping my BP..but now that im off of it im spilling protein again i almost want to risk taking it again to help with the protein...anyone else having issues with low bp on lisinopril..i was on it for high BP but now i take it only if top number is over 150

Hey Amy! Did your nephrologist take you off Lisinopril? have you tried the lowest dose of it at 10 mg? I was taking 40 mg and now I am down to 20 mg and my BP stays around 110/60, somedays a little less or somedays a little more. It has gotten as low at 80/52, I was told it was ok unless I started experiencing symptoms of low BP, but its helping with the protien a little bit. Maybe you can talk to yoru doc about trying another ACE inhibitor and see if that would help with the protein???

yes she did... she took me off of it.. because it was dropping to where i was tired...i have 5 mg i should talk to her again about it... when i went off my kidney disease got worse and so did the protein now im on cellcept and its leveling off... but it still drives me crazy i want the protein to go away..im down to a trace to 30..she told me to buy dipstick strips to monitor my protein.. so i have been holding steady just didnt know if i should be on it or not..thx

I'm on it. 20mil. x2. but I have CHF. I was wondering what is harder on your body? the lisinpril or the cellcept? I would think the cellcept but I didn't go to dr. school. Then again a lot depends on what other drugs you are on. I know there are a lot of things you shouldn't take with beta blockers but my dr. says it's safer to give them to me then not to. Hopefully you and your dr. will get it figured out. I'll be waiting to hear.
