Hey everyone! Thanks so much for your concern and words of comfort and encouragement. You're right, it is impossible sometimes not to worry, even a little. In the first few days after finding out I have just been filled with an immense sadness. What God wants to happen will happen in this. I believe that my sister's just as much in his hands now, as she was before. That hasn't, and never will change. I guess I mourn over the hardness of this, and the pain and scary times that my sister is going through. Our family is so close, as I've said. I know that she's feeling a lot of uncertainty right now, and that gives me pain because I love her so much. Family is a treasure. My mom raised me to know so, and I'm so blessed to have been. We work hard on relationships.
Thanks Stacie and PattyLatty for offering your personal experience. It is encouraging to hear that you're a survivor of 20years plus Patty..Praise God! If I have any questions I will definately ask away, as you've given me permission. My sister's cancer is fairly large. It's a lump that's 4.5 cm. She was told it's not the worst, but it's definately up there in size. It's probably been growing in her for up to a decade. Yikes! She has been given a surgery date of April 28th. Thank the Lord she doesn't have to wait up to the full 6 weeks it could've been. They're going to take out her whole Thyroid and then give her the radiation after...it'll probably be the month later I would imagine (I don't know that), from what you've said your brother had done stacie.
I'll keep you all posted and for now, I guess it's being a support to my sister anyway that she needs. I'm babysitting tonight. Take care everyone..God is helping me not to stress too much. It takes a daily discipline of praying my worries away up to God..and it helps to be able to share my sadness to people who can encourage (like all of you:) and pray for my family and me too.
Till later,
Ellie
