Wart hog

Hi Everyone. I have 5 lupus warts on my hands, but as my subject says I'm not willing to share. I had 3 warts last year and my rheumy gave me a topical Rx so I'm using it again. Last year I asked my rheumy if they were caused from my Cellcept and he said no lupus causes these warts.  What made me post this is the warts were all on right hand and I just noticed another on the left. They're taking over   Love, Butterflake

I find warts frightening. I had 3 taken off 4-5 years ago, they did an incomplete job on 2 - those 2 have remained flat but present. The other one is growing still. Thinking I need a different dermo to work on them....two on leg around knee, one side of foot. The dermo just tried to freeze them.

Seemed much easier to get rid of the plantar warts on the bottom of my foot years ago. The podiatrist burned, scraped, and packed with acid -- killed those suckers DEAD.

Lupus causes warts? Are we sure? I thought the random opportunistic things like fever blisters, shingles, warts, etc are all things that a normal immune system usually shrugs off, but our systems sometimes let them through. Seems like if lupus actually caused warts that we would all have them.

Ok, you guys probably won't believe me, but I'm gonna post it anyway;)

When I was a teenager I got a wart on the side of my big toe. I, being a teenager, was mortified. My grandmother was at the house one day while my mom was putting liquid wart remover on my toe. She looked at my toe and said, "All you gotta do is put some iodine on that for a few days and it'll come right off." That's exactly how she said it. Well, my mom went to the drug store and got some iodine (because I begged her to try it. she thought my grandmother was being superstitious or something). When she put it on the wart with the dropper it soaked it up. So she added more and more until it would no longer soak it up. Then she put a bandaid over it. We did that 3 times a day for about 5 days. Then, I took my sock off after school for the next treatment. The bandaid was still attached to my toe (loosely), but the wart was gone! We actually shook the wart out of my sock! Totally gross, but I was so happy! No wart to this day. We have told everyone.

Warts are caused by a virus. Makes sense that Lupus could cause it (what problems aren't associated with Lupus?). Guess the iodine kills it...
