100's of bruises ok at least 50 or 60. on the back of my arms. on my legs, my thighs. I am covered with them. I didn't fall or anything. They just keep appearing. What's up with that? Any one got any ideas? They are small no big ones.

Hey Carol, When was the last time you had your platelets checked? Do you have any red dots on your upper arms?

When are you going to get your blood work checked next?

Hey Ames, I just had it checked last month. I am on b12 shots and had a transfusion a couple of months ago for my anemia. My platelett was 240 so it was within range then. I haven't really felt very good (lathargic) even after the shots. I have a nurse that comes in every week. she'll be here tomorrow but she hates to take my blood because I'm such a hard stick.

no red dots on my arms just purple bruises. I sent you my labs I didn't want to post it on the board.

Carol, platelets are what I thought of right off the bat too. I'd get another CBC done. I'm covered in small bruises due to my thrombocytopenia (low platelets). This is just me, but my numbers can go from normal to critical in a week or less.

Do you have a new nurse? Has Kathy started back? Do have them test your blood again. That kind of bruising, unless you're bumping into things, and it doesn't sound like you are, is not normal & you need to find out what's going on.

The kids are here this week so I'm pretty busy, but we'll talk next week after my surgery.

Thanks Ginny and Pat, I just stumbled acrossed something that kind of puts things together. Recently I have been struggling with headaches. I never head what I would consider lupus headaches but the past couple of days they come and go but are pretty rough. I decided to see how they decribed lupus headaches and this is what I found.

seems like the bruises and headaches can be all one symptom.I'm guessing my lupus is causing some new flare up. frustrating disease! mad

I have new bruises popping up everyday and I dont know why....my Rheumy said it was low platelets.

That is interesting.  I get bruising for no reason that I can remember and I thought maybe it was a side effect of some med.  I will remember this next it happens to me.  Thanks everyone.
