Heat intolerance (new to this disease)

Hi all, I'm a relatively new patient to this disease, so I don't know the in's and out's.
My question is about my sudden terrible intolerance to heat, not sunlight, but heat. I'm sweating
all the time,even when the air is on, and my limbs, especially my legs are really beginning to ache,
is this something I should expect?

I'm curious to see what answers folks have.

Several times I've swollen up due to heat. One time in particular was a vacation when we drove from Gilroy, CA through Death Valley to Las Vegas. I got so sick and had hives and swollen puffy skin that I couldn't even get out of the van. Everyone else got to run through the sand and pick up rocks (I love rock hunting!). It lasted at least a day, probably two...

Hi there! I have my days where heat affects me. It seems to suck the little bit of energy I have right out of me. Are you saying that you ache from the heat? Or ache in general? If you are aching in general, I know that is very common. Joint and muscle pain is something most of us go though on a daily basis. I am not too sure if you ache just from heat.

It is deffinatly something I would write down so you remember to mention it to your rhuemy and see what he/she thinks!!

The heat has intensified the aching. Well actually it's come back, thinking about my it, my pains had kinda
deminished a little, but now the heat is up there it's come back. But I have to say I am dragging my butt!!

Fibro can cause an intense burning pain. I suffer fron the heat too but mostly I sweat like a pig. Steroids seem to make me sweat more. I don't know what you have tried but the soldiers in Iraq wear these things around their neck that have chrystals in them. You get them wet and the chrystals swell up. They calll them cool wraps. If they help in 130 degree weather they should help you too. I know some women use them when they go through menapause. of course you don't have to go through that to be hot. If you havn't tried those I would suggest it. Because of the chrystals absorbing water they last for hours.

I hope you get some releif. Every little bit helps
