Hi yall.

This has been an extremely long road for me. I am 19 years old and on active duty in the army. The story starts in Nov 2010 when I began having stomach pains. The doctors at Fort leonard wood, and ended up taking out my appendix. The pain in my lower right abdomen was better, but when I went home on christmas leave, I started gettin nauseous and vomiting after eating anything. The pain came back, but was more generalized in nature. I reported to Fort Jackson in January, and things have only gotten worse. the best I can do to is to list the symptoms for you.

abdominal Pain
Nausea and Occasional Vomiting
Frequent Headaches
Sensitivity to Sunlights (eyes) and rashes in the sun/heat
severe salt cravings
brain fogs (trouble "finding the right word" - and difficulty understanding language (basically, sounds like someone is speaking gibberish and i find myself askin "what?" for them to repeat multiple times.), difficulty learning and concentrating. including memory loss.
extreme fatigue (barely make it through a day, not even doing anything)
red "rash" on face (not raised or itchy, but pretty red on nose and cheekbones)
achy joints (already diagnosed with arthritis in left ankle and knee and both hips. my fingers feel stiff and feel swollen tho do not appear to be and my wrists are starting to bother me.)
mouth ulcers


to add to that, ALL the tests they have done have been negative. did have 2 endoscopies, one showed 3 stomach ulcers, and the other was a follow up to make sure they were healed. (all was good). i have had CT scans, HIDA scan, xrays, blood tests, ultrasounds and a head CT for the headaches. everything was negative, but obviously i know something is wrong. the doctors here are tryin to dischage me because they cannot find a reason for me feeling so bad all the time. I just asked my doctor today to get an ANA, RA Panel and sed rate, so hoping for the results monday.

i guess my question is, does this sound like lupus? and if the tests come back negative, can they treat me for lupus and see if it helps?

thank yall so much. i need as much help as i can get, because this is threatening my dream career of serving my country.

Also, the doctors have put me on reglan and zofran to treat just the symptoms

Many of your symptoms do sound like Lupus.
I hope they can find an answer for you soon.

rashes, fatigue, joint pains, brain fogs, sensitive to sun are pretty classical symptoms of lupus.  As for your facial rashes, google lupus facial rash or lupus rash image, and see if it looks anything alike.  If you can see a butterfly shape rash on your face, then it's most probably a lupus rash.  The time I had my facial rash, it looked like a butterfly. 

I hope you can find an answer for all your symptoms soon.

My rash is odd looking. It looks different from the photos in the net. It looks like an acne breakout but not bumpy, just flat red spots all over my face. Kind of like measles....

I too have the salt cravings and brain fog! I can talk to someone and cant think of the right words or totally forget what i was talking about. 12 year's ago when my symptoms started my rash was like your describing but now i get the butterfly rash. My ana test is negative but aticardiolipins igg test positive. I have had elevated c reactive protein and sed rate ( westergren) for the whole 12 years. All the dr's i've been to know i have it but the rheumy i seen two weeks ago says i don't have it because my ana was neg.! So keep searching until someone helps you. I have suffered for 12 yrs. With no diagnosis or treatment! I am suffering with no pain meds and in constant pain! It hurts to even type this! I pray you get a diagnosis very soon. And by the way i also have pain in my right side have you had your gallbladder or liver checked? I had my gallbladder removed due to a large stone with same symptoms as you nausea vomiting and pain. But still have pain and elevated liver enzymes and liver nodule.
