What makes an ESR high? I am trying to figure out if this test is actually accurate for someone with a mild inflammatory condition to their muscles and joints. I know it picks up systemic inflammation, but I'm wondering if that inflammation has to be severe. The ESR is supposed to increase by any cause of inflammation.
I had a really nasty burn all over my skin and both of my arms had previously broke out in a rash where I have been outside working, the burn was there when I had the ESR blood test. It did not change from what it was back in april. And this is the test that has to tell my doctors whether or not I have an autoimmune condition that I already know I have. Really, now..
Is there a condition a person can have that can keep your inflammatory markers from raising?
