Difference between ANA CHOICE vs. ANA Pattern

Hi, I need to know the difference between ANA CHOICE screen w/refl to Titer, IFA vs. ANA PATTERN.because in my case the ANA choice was positive and the ANA pattern was negative. in the same blood test I had the SED RATE by Modified Westergren (high 28), the white blood cell Low 3.5. And another thing said (absolute monocytes low 182. The rheumatoid factor is 6.

Please help me with that I want to understand, the difference, because yesterday I receive my daughter result and in her case the ANA test was Positive but the other test is ok. so I really don't understand

Please I'm so worry about it. My daughter only have 11yr old and her symptoms are occasional pain in her joins, the skin turn red-purple like when we have cool)and them when you press turn white that spot. she loose bunch of hair and loose weight. 2 family mamber have Lupus, I guess is not genetic, but please I freak out. because she is my baby and I need to know if this is normal or no.

Jade, I'm sorry I can't interpet the results. I know you're very worried about your baby girl. Some of the things you describe does sound like lupus, but I'm no expert. I'm still learning about it myself. You're going to have to wait for the talk with the Rheumy for answers.

So, take a deep breath....If this is lupus your baby needs you as a strong front for her. Give her lots of love and care (which I have no worries about you doing), find out everything you can about it, and stick around for more answers.

Remember, lupus is like the fishing booth at the school fair...you never know what you're going to get.

Thank you so much for your support Couchtater. It's no easy I receive the ANA positive yesterday and the pediatric Dr. refer her to rheumy So now I need wait for the appointment.

I have never heard of an "ANA CHOICE" test -- my guess is that it's just the way a particular lab packages the tests for billing reasons, and that the actual lab values are comparable no matter which lab. But it's good that you are being referred to a rheumy - they are the experts in these matters and will get to the bottom of things!
