I have SLE lupus nephritis and am 8 weeks pregnant with my second child. During my first pregnancy I was put on a low (5mg) of prednisone and also a low dose of imuran. Things went fine with my first pregnancy well besides pre eclampsia. This pregnancy I am already having problems with my kidneys and am having a biopsy next week. My doctor told me that if it shows that my Lupus is really active that he will put me on 60 mg of prednisone for a few months and also high dose of Imuran. This really scares me that it will harm the baby. Can anyone tell me if they were on high doses of prednisone and Imuran. I thought that high doses of prednisone were harmful to the fetus?
