Lupus is fraught with inflammation. Have you been seen and diagnosed by a Rheumatologist?
Generally the first meds given after diagnosis are Plaquenil, to inhibit disease progression, and Prednisone or other steroid to reduce inflammation. You need to keep taking the steroid every day according to Dr's orders, you can't just stop it when it feels better.
Generally it takes something like Imuran, Cellcept, or MTX to take your body to task and get the inflammation to slow down.
If you're Rheumy isn't doing something along these lines, it would be good to get a second opinion.
While foods and natural remedies talk about reducing inflammation -- they mean inflammation in a healthy body, NOT the inflammation of lupus. Taking them may actually be fighting against what your Dr is trying to do with your prescription medications -- always talk to your Dr before adjusting diet or using natural remedies -- it's easy to accidentally do the wrong thing, Lupus inflammation is NOT to be treated with these things.
Best wishes
Food has always been a source to reduce the inflammation that is caused due to Arthritis but doesn’t cure it. I haven’t found a good rheumatologist who would guide me for a better treatment.
