CNS Lupus or MS?

I had a MRI test done and it showed some white spots on my brain so the Neuro doc said it could be CNS Lupus or MS. He wants me to have a LP and I am hoping this will show just which one it could be. Do you think that will do it?

or will more testing need to be done?

Both are difficult to diagnose, but MS can be more reliably diagnosed as it has characteristics that are not shared with other diseases. Lupus overlaps with a number of things so is more difficult to isolate.
