sleeping horribly

After reviewing some of the posts on here, I am now wondering if my sleep issues are related to my uctd. about 10 years ago I started having something along the lines of restless leg syndrome when I would lie down to sleep at night. Since then it has waned a little but I am still having issues with it. It's not true RLS as far as I know but I feel like I am not comfortable or my legs are tingly. I've tried ibuprofen and sleep aids with not much relief. On a bad night-like last night-I am up every so often and have a very difficult time getting back to sleep. I can't explain the feelings that I get only that I feel 'wired',not my mind but my body. I am truly exhausted at night and need to do something to help sleep. Also I couldn't get warm and wound up piling covers on me and even wearing socks to bed. Can anyone shed some light on this?

It's hard to say whats going on with your legs, but I wanted to throw out there that maybe you could ask for a sleep study. I know that sleep studies can be done for things other than sleep apnea.

You may have a sleep disorder and they might be able to DX and get you on a medication to help with the condition.

I've had lupus for over 26 years now and I'm fatigued and exhausted all the time. I do have central and obstructive sleep apnea. I'm always cold, but I'm also really anemic, to the point where I need blood monthly now.

I hope you can get this figured out soon. Please let us know if you find an answer for this problem. By the way welcome to the forum.

So is the overwhelming fatigue from the uctd/lupus or from the lack of sleep? That is what I can't figure out right now.
