Update -now meds

Well went back to my rheumatologist today. He has decided to call my issues connective tissue disease. He said that I only have 1 maybe 2 of the criteria for Lupus but have a lot of Lupus symptoms. He knows it have an autoimmune with my C3 & C4 levels being low (which can be indicative of Lupus). He wants to treat my symptoms so I will be able to hopefully be in less pain and feel better over all. He has decided to put me on Plaquinel (sp). He said it is used for several more specific CTDs and is well tolerated and helps a lot of people. He said I could eventually have Lupus but for now he wants to keep the term broad and feels comfortable with it being a CTD. It feel good to have some validation after over 3 years of varying issues and problems. Anyone else see this before it turned into Lupus? Thoughts on Plaquenil?

My original diagnosis was CTD (primary care diagnosed based on ANA 1280). After shopping for a rheumy that I liked, I was started on plaquenil. Slowed things down but ended up getting the lupus diagnosis about 1-2 years later. That was back in 2002. Still on the plaquenil, though other meds have been added. I have had no problems with the plaquenil and do believe it improves my quality of life.
