Hi, I have been going to drs for months now for my autoimmune problem and really have no answers, my AnA is always positive, periphereal, my sed rate is around 48 and I hurt daily. I get pockets of swelling, my hands ache terribly and are numb when I wake up. I've also gained 30 pounds! Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

Have you seen a rheumatologist?
They are the best at diagnosing autoimmune diseases.
To be diagnosed with lupus you have to meet 4 of the 11 indicators the rheumatologist uses. You can find them in the thread lupus 101.

Thanks, yes I have, I'm getting a second opinion tomorrow, the first one started me on plaquenil, but it made me nauseous so he told me to stop and then did nothing else, my hands hurt so bad, it's hard to type.

Ask the rheumatologist for ARAVA. It's another DMARD like plaquinel. Maybe you can take that?

I've never heard of that one, I'm anxious to see someone else, hoping and praying for answers. This autoimmune stuff really works on a person. Thanks so much for your input!
