Alrighty guys! I started my Imuran last week. So far I have nausea and some pretty real stomach cramps and pain. Over the weekend I developed a root infection in my back tooth and was put on antibiotics for that. Monday at work we had someone call in and had a girl come to our branch to fill in during lunch shifts. I was around her for maybe an hour, not in close proximity and she never coughed or anything. At the end of her stay here she mentioned that she was sick and was "trying to not breathe on me". I figured I would be ok, as I was not really close to her during the time she spent here and I have not been on the meds for too long yet.
Turns out I was WRONG WRONG WRONG! Yesterday I had a scratchy throat that I attributed to being in the cold air outside for a bit for Mardi Gras. Last night proved that I was so very wrong in that assumption. I woke up to deep chest coughing, fever, chills, full body aches as if I had the flu. The hubby got me water and held me while I softly moaned about
how crappy I felt. Today I feel HORRIBLE. I do not feel like I have a "little cold" like my co worker claimed she had. I feel like I have the flu.
Having watched my mother go through immunosuppressive treatment for years and years I know that what one healthy person calls a cold a suppressed immune system lupus patient calls deaths door. I am knocking on the devils door begging him to release me from this hell right now. I am forced to work or I could not afford to live, and I do not have an understanding and flexible job. We are waiting on yet more ADA paperwork to be filed *really just work putting off actually helping me* before I am granted sick time. So that means I am hacking and shivering at my desk handling customer transactions between my clenched teeth.
Anyone have any tips for things to help with this cough? I read that I cannot take cough syrup while taking Imuran!
Thanks so much!
