Hi, I was diagnosed with discoid lupus about a year ago. I had two punch biopsys done that confirmed discoid lupus. Lately I have been having very bad problems with dry and very red eyes. I have also been very tired and weak. Can discoid lupus have these symptoms. Please help with any information! I am also waiting on a blood test result.

I'm not well informed on discoid lupus.
But I do know lupus can cause weakness and fatigue.
Are you taking any meds yet?

Yes I am on plaqunil and corticosteroids creams and sprays.

Yes, Discoid Lupus can have those symptoms just like SLE can.

You can use over-the-counter eye LUBRICANTS (not red eye drops, nothing with medication in it) to help some with the irritated eyes.

Do you have a rheumatologist treating you? You should probably notify them of your new symptoms to see if they want to make any changes in your medications.

Hi Lynwood, I do have a rheumatologist I am going to see her Wednesday actually. Which isn't soon enough! I'm on a gel at night for my eyes and eye drops during the day. My back is in so much pain right now and my legs ache. I went to the er last night but they didn't find anything! I know my body and something is not right. I'm exhausted as well.
