Wow, was that really in 2010? I have to confess I never followed up on it and it's on the list of things I need to do -- see my GP for a full physical and ask about elevated liver enzymes as well as a couple of other things (randomly elevated heart rate, somewhat random shortness of breath).
I was seeing an endocrinologist at the time when the elevated liver enzymes were detected, but didn't follow up because I didn't like his treatment plan. Instead of asking what I'd been eating, or doing another test in a few weeks to see if it was a real indicator or just a one-time aberration, he wanted a liver biopsy immediately and I thought it was overkill. Probably should have done something rather than ignore it till now, but didn't want a biopsy.
I think the best thing to do to deal with diabetes symptoms, or "pre-diabetes" is really consider how much protein you eat vs. how many empty carbs you eat. I found I really needed to increase protein and drop carbs. Lanie G. over in the diabetes forum has lots of good advice and links to good eating websites as well.
