I never had an unexplained rash before. Last night I had an itchy spot on the bone on the back of my neck. I reached back and felt it. It felt like a little ant bite or somthing. Than I woke up this morning and it's all over the back of my neck. Because of where it is I can only see a couple on the side. they are just tiny and red and raised. I can't figure out what it is from so I am thinking it's this disease thing. I've heard of getting a rash on legs and face. Have you ever gotten one on your neck like this? If so do you start getting sick after this happens? Should I expect to be sick for easter? I have that stupid headache again this morning. I was also waking up off and on all night even though before I went to bed I was doosing off in the chair. I thought I would have slept like a log. Oh also is there anything you use to make a rash not itch? My head is starting to itch too but I don't feel any rash. (yet).

sorry for all the questions and complaining today. I'm not in a real good frame of mind this morning.

Hi Carol,

I am sorry you are having these problems.  I also have that rash on my neck and chest.  Sometimes it turns brown, but then it can turn red again.  I also had the itching on my scalp and hairline area.  I asked my Rheumy about it and she told me to get the anti-itch cream from the store and if that didn't help to let her know.  The one I have is Equate (walmart brand)  anti-itch cream 2 %.  It also has an antihistamine in it.  The itching on my scalp stopped after I starting using a dandruff shampoo.  For me, the rashes did not mean that a flare was coming on.  I wish you the best and have a Happy Easter!

Hi Denise, thanks for the info. I use walmart stuff too. I was just there yesterday. This is just irritating because it's right on my collar area. It's hard not to rub against it. errgggg! I'm glad it isn't a prelude to something worse. Especially with Easter.

I had it on my back and back neck half a year ago. It lasted for a week and it is very itchy. I remembered scratching all nite. The school nurse gave me helped me to apply hydrocortisone antiitch cream and it worked very good. The nurse suspected it was from lupus, and so as my doc. I could'n't get an appt w/my doc that time. When the time I got it, it was over already. Anyway, the doc also suggested me to apply hydrocortisone cream.

   ((Hugs)) Bless your heart! When it rains, it pours! Sorry your having such a rough time. I have a small rash on the back of my neck and on the arch of my left foot. It has been driving me crazy for months itching! about 2 weeks ago I saw my Internal Medicine doc and he said it was from Neuropathy and gave me an rx for "Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream". Thats a mouth full!!! LOL  I had to go get the tube to type it out! Anyway, it works good! It has stopped the itching so far and just a tiny rash is there now.

Thanks Omega and Bab's, I'll keep it in mind. Omega, ain't that the way it always goes? when you have symptoms you can't get into the doctor! Bab's by the time I got done saying that word I rash would be gone! LOL.

But I'm getting I have some anti itch cream that seems to be helping but I have a sneaking suspcision the rash it from the cough syrump with codein in it. I take vicodin but it's a synthetic codein. I noticed last night when I took it my arms started itching real bad. The rash started the same night after I got the medicine.

    I hope your doctor can give you something else since it sounds like your having a reaction from the Codiene...((Hugs)). I'm glad the anti-itch cream is helping some. Take care and have a great Easter!

Yeah! I agree. I always told my doc that when the time I can get appt to see him, all my symptoms are gone. He laughed.
It is possible that the rash is caused by codinie. Hope u feel better.

A good tip for rashes & other visible but sometimes fleeting symptoms..... take a photograph!
