OK so here's the thing. about
3 weeks ago I left Malaysia and entered into Thailand. ALmost immediately after entering into Thailand, I started having difficulties with my breathing . Because of my major Lupus flare that happened this past MArch , my rheumy thought that perhaps my breathing problems were Lupus-related (however, I have never had breathing problems in my entire life). Needless to say , I found the most reputable hospital I could find in Southern Thailand and got achest x-ray and pulmonary function test. The results came back perfectly. The Internal Medicine Doctors that I met with told me my breathing problems were actually NOT Lupus-related and that my lungs are just having a difficult time adjusting to the muggy/humid climate (it is the beginning of rainy season here in Thailand). However, I'm still not convinced......
So, I was wondering -have any of you experienced breathing problems that were related to your Lupus? The problems I am having , are that I can't seem to inhale enough air/oxygen. I'm always taking very deep breaths or trying to yawn because my "normal" breaths are not satisfactory. I'm not in pain - it's actually annoying more than anything. I am taking bronchodilators (that seem to help) as well as an asthma med (although i don't have asthma ) and a mucolytic. I 'm wondering if I'm being over-medicated????? I don't like that fact that I have to be on these meds as well as my Lupus meds for the next few months.
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks!
