New drug to treat fibromyalgia pain

I just saw on CNN that the FDA has approved a drug for treatment of fibromyalgia pain. Here is the link:

Maybe this will help overcome the bias held by many that fibromyalgia is not a real disease.

Hi Patty, That would be wonderful. Even though I have not been dx'd with it I am almost possitive from what others have said here that I have do have it. there are days I can't even take my t shirt off. I feel all stoved up and just want to cry. So I take about 20mg. of pred. and start getting some releif. ASny thanks for the link. I'd rather do anything than take pred.

Carol,

Is it still raining up your way? We haven't had rain for 24 hours. Imagine that. I hope we get some dry weather real soon so you'll start feeling better. How's your day going?

Tks, My daughter called me about this earlier. Since fibro is a secondary disease for me it isn't too . I do hope the ones of you with a more severe from of fibro will benefit from the Lyrica? I did take it awhile back and had some kind or reaction from it and had to stop. I wish I could remember what the effect was so I could share it.

Babs, I don't know much if anything about it. I just saw the headline and posted it. I also posted it on the fibro forum and they didn't seem to excited about it. Someone there said it was much like neurontin. I'll try to do some research and see what I can learn about it, and I'll also ask my doctor. Fibro is a secondary disease for me too, but it still causes lots of pain from time to time, as I'm sure it does to you too.
