Hi everyone, I'm a 16 year old with Lupus. Visiting the forum after a while. But I was wondering...
I have been (told to) decrease pred. And now am at 15mg everyother day (I was at 60mg a day 2 years ago...it's been a long path)..I'm also on 1000mg of cellcept twice a day, and 50mg of topiramate as well as some vitamins and stuff...
I know normally I wouldn't be worried about losing weight, but latley when I go to the hospital (the only time I get weighed) the doctors/nurses/fellows/etc. have been getting annoying/confused. My weight keeps dropping, although I eat the regular 3 meals a day and don't OVER excercise. They've been sending people from adolescent medicine, trying to get me to 'fess up about being annorexic (which I AM NOT) It makes me angry..
Today they decreased the Topiramate (apparently a known side-effect is weight loss) but I'm still confused.. I'm really not sure what I'm doing.. because the doctors think it's more than just that...
This upsets me, but nobody really seems to understand that I'm not doing this on purpose. In fact, anymore weightloss and I'm going on a feeding tube (which is scary for me since I've never done it before).
I have a pretty good energy amount/blood pressure so I'm really confused.
