Hey Veronica,
Lynnwood is right. Perimenopause (the 10-15 years before actual menopause hits), will cause wacko fluctuations in hormones and our periods. I'm only 33, and I'm already seeing those fluctuations happening. My periods used to be 4 or 5 days and not too heavy and the pms wasn't bad. In this last year, I"ve gone from having no period for 3 months straight, to now having them every 20 days and they last 9 days and are really heavy and the pms is bad. It's a nightmare. I've had it all checked out and we're chalking it up to perimenopause and my lovely, wonderful hormones!
So it's not surprising for any woman between the age of 35 and 45, approximately, to have a wack-job of a period. It stinks. Being a woman sucks sometimes.....
I wouldn't be scared about it Veronica. I'll bet when you see your doc they'll check your hormones and if they're normal they'll say what was said to me.... "You're at that age". But taking it easy for a couple days would sure be nice wouldn't it! Do what you need to.
(((hugs))),
Ginny
