Fevers

Hi Jana! Yes, having a low-grade fever can be an indicator of a possible flare. I remember really confounding my regular md when I would show up with a fever for no apparent reason. I didn't realize I had a fever, actually, but if it went up too high, I was really achy and "sticky" and felt quite crummy. My current set of meds seems to have put the fever issue under control at the moment. You might want to keep a record of your temp throughout the day for a few days and speak to your rhuemy about it. You need to see your rheumy, especially with this going on for more than a week or two.  My doctor says if I run an unexplained fever that I need to see him.  You're probably starting to go into a flare or in a flare.  Monday morning call and make your appointment!!!  Let us know what happens.  Hugs.

Jana, before I started taking prednisone, I had fevers almost everyday. I usually run a fairly low normal temp around 97.8 and I was running fevers between 99 and 100.5. Prednisone made things much better and now when I get a fever it is a sure sign that I had better slow down or I'll end up in a flare. I'm glad you are seeing your doc Monday - make sure to talk about your fevers.
