Doc put me on Nystatin today. I was havig a lot of mouth pain and terrible problems swollowing. I have a bad infection from my mouth down my esphogus and into my intestinal track. I am pretty sure it's a side effect from all the meds I've was on in the hospital.

The DHS came out to the house and are trying to work out home health care for me and someone to do my shopping cooking laundry and so fourth. They are putting in a bar in my shower and a shower seat for me. Unfortunately that takes a while and I had to hire somone to come out and clean. She will be here this weekend. If the place was just messy it would be one thing but I feel like if I don't get it lysoled and really scrubbed I will just keep rotatting the germs.

so now I'm eating broth and jello. She wants me to call monday and let her know how I'm doing. The good thing is I still have my computer and my t.v. and my puppy to keep me company. I really don't feel too bad but everyone that sees me mentions that my hands are shaking I guess that means I'm kind of weak I really don't know.

Well anyway  just wanted to give an update and send you all my love and prayers.

I'll probably post soe tomorrow and try to catch up on what everyone is up to.

Oh Carol.  I"m so sorry you're going through this.  It is SO much of what I dealt with.  I had a rash in my mouth, down my throat into my stomach, intestines and bowels.  It's awful isn't it.  You can't eat anything it hurts so bad.  Horrible way to go on a diet.....

 

I"m glad you are able to keep busy with your computer and you have your puppy with you for company.  What a blessing to have home care.  You need it.  And just nice to know that someone will be there to check on you. 

 

We're praying for you Carol.  The hand shaking is something I had too.  I couldn't write or use a fork or spoon without spilling everything.  I think it's the way the body reacts to such a trauma.  There was no explanation for my shaking.  It did go away though, about 6 weeks later.  I hope you don't have it that long.

 

Thank you for letting us know how you're doing.  You're a trooper!!

((((((((Carol)))))))) Some hot tea for you sis!!! If you have friends/family who call and ask what they can do . . . PLEASE let them know you need their help to do some housework for you. It will really help you feel better. I remember being SO ill for two extended periods of time, that I would literally need to ly on the bathroom floor after heaving to gain enough strength to get back to bed. I never asked for help and the apartment just got so nasty that it was nauseating just being in there. I wish you had someone you could ask for help. You might even find a helpful teen who would work for a few dollars an hour to help you get things cleaned up. It would be money well spent and since you can't eat much, maybe your grocery money would help pay for it. Rest, rest, rest . . . . may your sleep be sound and restorative!! Blessings!

Awww, I wish I lived closer to help you out. (not sure how much help I'd be, but we could commiserate and laugh and take naps whenever we wanted!)

I'm so so glad you are getting some help through DHS. You need this right now and for however long it takes to get you well and back on your feet. Don't rush the healing. Your body had been through so darn much lately that it will take you a good while to get back on track. And while the folks are there to help, let them. Do NOT think you have to be "helping" or "pleasant". In fact, you can nicely let them know that you are too worn out to talk or just tell them you need to rest quietly.

Please take care of yourself and hug your little dog from me. They are the best medicine. (I like the fact that I can cry with mine if I need to and she doesn't ask for explanations or tell me to stop!) I'll be thinking of you and keeping you in my prayers.

Ginny, Rosie, Emmie, thanks guys you are such great friends you mean so much to me.

Ginny, bless your heart! I am so sorry you had to go through all of this stuff. I hope you never have to go through it again. I swear I'm not suicidal but there have been times lately I have seriously prayered that God would intervene because there is no way I can keep fighting this. Please feel free to email me any time. My pharmacist mentioned that in between the statin that I should swish my mouth with just plain malox and spit it out. She swears by it for the pain. She said it works wonders.

Rosie, it sounds lt sounds like me trying to get off the bathroom floor. than two days later I was able to wash my sheets. I took them out of the drying and they were all curled up in a ball. I took them and fell acrossed my bed with them crinkled up and had to lay there for 45 min. until I had the strength to get up and make my bed. It's amazing how much energy it takes these days. between the lupus and illnesss we just don't have any reserve somtimes.

Emmie, I would love that if you were closer, you could bring your puppy and we could watch t.v. and dvd's in my room. I have a huge kingsize bed close to the bathroom and the frdge. I'm sure we could take our sick twisted mines and find somthing to laugh about and get a stop watch and and time how long it takes us to get out of bed lol.

well it's 4:30 am and I had to get up to take some meds plus I got one heck of a headache so I thought I'd check in while the aspirin was working.

Okie,

I was thinking the same ting aabout laughing at what our sick, twisted minds might cook up. I was just being polite. I didn't it would be politically correct to go there since you are recovering from such go 'round with so much. But since you did, I'll see what I can cook up. (and it won't be my bird, Butterflake. I don't have one. We do however, haave a tank full of cute little fishies if you have a taste for seafood.)
